Meet the Makers: What to Expect from Our Exhibitors

At the heart of Christmas in Surrey is a commitment to independent making. Every exhibitor is selected by hand — not from an open directory or a bulk application list, but from genuine conversations about craft, quality, and what they bring to the festive season.

We sat down with a handful of our confirmed makers to ask what they are bringing to Sandown Park this November.

"We have been making wreaths from foraged pine and eucalyptus for eight years," says founder of The Pine Wreath Co., based in Guildford. "But bringing them to a venue like Sandown Park — with a real Christmas atmosphere — is something entirely new. People will be able to smell the pine the moment they walk past."

Down the aisle, Little Wax Studio has been refining its signature Christmas candle range all year. "We wanted each scent to feel like a different Christmas memory," she explains. "Pine and cedar for a real Christmas tree, mulled clove for the kitchen, snow accord for that clean winter-morning feeling. We are hand-pouring everything fresh for the event."

From Hearth & Home Ceramics, the focus is on pieces that outlast the season. "People buy my mugs and bowls as gifts, but I love that they use them every day after. A piece of Christmas in Surrey that stays on the kitchen shelf in January — that is the ambition."

This is what makes Christmas in Surrey different from a typical market. Not stalls of imported goods or mass-produced gifts, but a curated selection of work that has real care behind it.
