How to Make the Most of Your Visit to Christmas in Surrey

With four days, 150+ exhibitors, workshops, live music, Santa's Grotto and festive food all under one roof, a little planning makes for a much better day.

Here is our guide to getting the most from your visit.

Book your workshop in advance. The most popular sessions — wreath making, candle pouring, and our silversmithing taster — sell out quickly. All workshops are bookable online and include your event entry ticket. If you have children, the Saturday and Sunday Children's Craft Hour is drop-in and free with entry.

Arrive early or late. The busiest periods tend to be 11:00–14:00 on Saturday and Sunday. If you prefer a quieter browse, Friday morning or Monday afternoon offer a more relaxed pace.

Bring a large tote bag. You will be glad of the extra space. Exhibitors' packaging is beautiful, but you will accumulate more than you expect.

Check the programme board at the entrance. The live music, carol singers, and festive demonstrations happen at fixed times throughout the day. Knowing the schedule means you can plan your route and be in the right place at the right time.

Book Santa's Grotto in advance if you are bringing children. Grotto slots sell out ahead of the event — do not leave it to the door. Tickets include a gift from Father Christmas and a photo opportunity.

Eat before the rush. The food hall is wonderful, but the queues at lunchtime on Saturday can be long. If you arrive hungry, head straight there before the main hall.
